Abstract

Ambon as the capital of Maluku province also has many office, education, tourism and commercial business activities. With this activity, road infrastructure is needed that connects with the center of activity. The problem that is often encountered in urban transportation is traffic congestion, both on the highway and at intersections. The characteristic type of road network in the Ambon city is that the distance between one intersection and the next intersection is too close to the road section so that the varying levels of movement consist of various types of vehicles passing through these road sections resulting in decreased travel time problems on each road network. need to think about solving the problem of light vehicle speed that occurs on roads in the city of Ambon. The calculation method uses a mathematical empirical method. Based on the results of the travel time calculation survey, it was obtained that the instantaneous average speed on the road section was inadequate in providing bad service
