The emergence of differences in the characteristics of sea transportation services in Maluku, particularly on the Tulehu-Masohi route, raises questions about the factors that influence passengers' choice of transportation mode. Therefore, it is important to identify the main criteria that determine passenger preferences in choosing sea transportation modes on the Tulehu-Masohi route for two main modes of transportation: the KMP Cantika Lestari 99B ferry and speedboats, namely Cantika Torpedo and Cantika Inova. The factors influencing passengers' choice of sea transportation mode were analyzed and prioritized using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Data was collected through a questionnaire survey consisting of 25 ferry users and 25 fast boat users. Eight evaluation criteria were analyzed: security, safety, reliability, comfort, cleanliness, travel time, cost, and accessibility. The results show that safety is the most influential factor with a priority weight of 19%, making speedboats the most preferred mode of transportation for passengers based on the comparative weight of the analysis results. These findings highlight the importance of service quality and efficiency, as improving safety, comfort, and travel time can enhance sea transportation services.References
