Abstract

Micro hydro power plant (MHP) is a technology by utilizing the flow of the river to generate electricity. The aim of this study is to analyze the flow and height of the falling water (head), determine the type of turbine and analyze capacity obtained when applied to the concept of micro-hydro on the river Wai State Tona Nuniali Taniwel District of West Seram regency. The flow rate and high water fall (head) at Wai Tona river is one of the determining factors to determine the amount of power capacity will be obtained. Data-data used in the analysis is the primary data (flow rate) obtained from the calculation of the flow velocity and the cross-sectional area of the river Wai Tona using a measuring instrument types C31 current meter. Based on the results of the data analysis, the obtained flow rates at the cross-section diameter of 0.95159 m3 / s at an elevation of 72 meters above sea level. It also obtained high value falling water (head) of 50 m will be able to determine the type of turbine. The turbine is determined kind is francis turbine. The results of the data analysis will then be obtained large electric power of 356.703 kW or 0.356 MW.
