Abstract

The beach is an area on the edge of the water that is influenced by the highest tides and the lowest tides. Very long coastal areas, human activities, and development activities in coastal areas as well as natural factors such as waves, tides, and currents can have a negative impact on the coast by causing erosion and coastal sedimentation. to protect coastal areas so as to minimize the possibility of erosion and sedimentation on a beach. The data collection and analysis method used in this study was to conduct a survey at the research site to review and see directly the condition of the research location, then process the wind data that had been obtained from the BMKG, and calculate how much shoreline change occurred, then determine protective building that is suitable for tackling the damage that occurred in Latdalam Village. Based on the results of analysis and calculations on the coast of Latdalam Village, South Tanimbar District, Tanimbar Islands Regency, it can be concluded several things, namely Wave Height (Hs) of 3.01 m in the Northwest, and 2.31 m in the West, with a Wave Length (Lb). ) of 0.227 m in the Northwest, and 0.235 m in the West. Changes in shoreline that occur for 5 years on average reach -1.9171 m, and changes in coastline for 10 years on average reach -3.7244 m. Based on the state of the coast, the suitable coastal protection building is used based on the location conditions, namely Seawall or Revetment
