Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to assess and analyze the characteristics of informal economic social education that takes place in the household, especially mothers role so that it can form the pattern of informal economic education in an effort to establish a good economic behavior. The data were analyzed using qualitative analysis through the process of data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and collection / verification. These results indicate that the economic education within the family are part of the informal education that takes place is not programmed, but through a process of habituation and exemplary. Characteristics of economic education are carried out within the family environment can be seen from several things, namely through the transformation process of entrepreneurship, the communication process in
the use of the family budget, the wife's role is great in the process of managing family finances, and their responsibilities among family members in the use of the family budget. The process of economic education in the family is still completely.
