Abstract

The road is a land transportation infrastructure that plays an important role in the transportation sector, especially for the continuity of the distribution of goods and services although people. Roadway of  West Seram Regency currently has a comparison index between the number of kilometers long and a very low area, making it difficult to reach areas that have a lot of natural potential, so that it requires a good road network for road users. The purpose of this study was to determine and compare the results of the calculation of the thickness of flexible pavement. This research was carried out on the Waisarisa - Kaibobu village road with an observed road length of 3 km using the 2017 Road Pavement Design Manual Method and 2013 Road Pavement Design Manual. The design results using the 2017 Pavement Design Manual method, the pavement thickness is as follows: AC WC = 4 cm, AC BC = 6 cm, LPA class A = 40 cm and CBR value = 14.50%. The design results using the 2013 Pavement Design Manual method as follows: HRS WC = 3 cm, HRS Base = 3.5 cm, LPA class A2 = 25 cm, LPA class B = 12.5 cm and CBR value = 14.39%. Of the two methods compared and reviewed so that each manual for flexible pavement design is produced.
