Population, Water Needs, Water ResourcesAbstract
Water is an element that has the most important role in the life of every creature that lives on this earth. If there is a shortage or it runs out, it is certain that living things cannot carry on their lives. The need/demand for water is the amount of water needed to support all human activities. As the population increases, the demand for water also increases. The population's water needs will be met if the available water sources are reliable. One of the villages in the West Seram district that has water problems during the dry season is Rumahkay Village. Starting from this problem, it is better for the village government to start looking for other water sources as well as to study the potential of water sources to meet village water needs during the dry season. To answer the above problems, the purpose of this study is to analyze the water needs of the population in the next 20 years, analyze the available water discharge at water sources to be a source for the needs of the population in the location, and determine future strategies in an effort to provide water to the community. public. To find out the community's water needs in the coming years, it is necessary to analyze the projected population for a period of 20 years. The methods used in this research are Arithmetic, Geometry and Time Series methods. After obtaining the projected population, then an analysis of the population's water needs is carried out which refers to the clean water planning criteria (Planning Criteria for the Directorate General of Human Settlements, Dinas PU, 1996). Based on the analysis results, the population growth in Rumahkay village in the next 20 years is 3064 people. The community's need for water at the end of 2040 is 3.7789 liters/second. The available water debit at the Waisia water source is 106.4 liters/second. With the potential for large water discharge in water sources, it is certain that it can meet the needs of the population for the next 20 years. The water discharge distributed from the source to the reservoir is 0.021 m3/s exceeding the population's water needs, thus the service time for providing water to the community can be carried out for 24 hoursReferences
