Abstract

Analysis of Flexible Pavement Layer Thickness Using the 1989 Bina Marga Method and 2017 Road Pavement Design Manual Method on the Rambatu-Manusa Road Section, Inamosol District, West Seram Regency The highway is one of the indispensable transportation infrastructure, which connects one area to another. This is because the road is a supporter of various development sectors and is an infrastructure in the construction of residential areas, industrial areas, mining areas and the opening of isolated areas in the area along the road. Pavement is a structure that is placed on the subgrade, which separates the vehicle tires from the subgrade underneath. Pavement serves to protect the subgrade and pavement-forming layers from experiencing excessive stress and strain due to traffic loads. Pavement thickness planning is one of the stages in road work with the main goal of providing optimal service to road users. One of them is on the Rambatu-Manusa road, Inamosol District, West Seram Regency. in the grouping of roads included in the category of Regency road status. The existing condition on this road segment is that there is still subgrade and there is no pavement along the 2.50 Km and 3.00 M width, the purpose of this study is to analyze the thickness of the flexible pavement layer on the Rambatu-Manusa road, Inamosol District, West Seram Regency with the method Highways 1989 and the 2017 Pavement Design Manual Method, and Analyzing the Comparison of Technical Studies between the 1989 Highways Method and the 2017 Road Pavement Design Manual Methods In this study, the 1989 Bina Marga Method and the 2017 Road Pavement Design Manual Method were used to plan the thickness of the flexible pavement layer on the Rambatu-Manusa road section. After analyzing the thickness of the pavement layer using the 1989 Bina Marga Method, it was obtained that the Mechanical Lapen with a thickness of 5 Cm, the upper foundation layer with a thickness of 10 Cm, and the sub-base layer with a thickness of 10 Cm. Meanwhile, with the 2017 Road Pavement Design Manual Method, the HRS WC surface wear layer is 5 cm thick, and the top foundation layer is 15 cm thick
