Abstrak

Trade centers as the Mardika Traditional market is one of the transport nodes create human movements and goods that are so large. It also causes traffic problems, one of which is a side friction. The magnitude of the side friction greatly affects road capacity and vehicle speed. The aim of the study is to analyse how much of the side friction Mardika Beach Street in Ambon City and traffic performance due to side friction caused by trading activities of it. Research conducted is a survey of traffic volume to see the level of vehicle density, then survey side friction to see the magnitude of the impact of adverse it. The research was conducted at 400 meters at Mardika Beach Street in Ambon City which is divided into 2 segments. The next calculation is used with the 2014 road capacity guidelines for city roads.  Analysis results of research data obtained side friction (SF) > 900, which is 1249/ hr and in the class of side friction is very high. The result of this side friction performance traffic at Mardika Beach is not good with road capacity 2110 lvu/hour, so that the speed of free current vehicles becomes very small, < 45.00 km/h (VB Ideal) is 31.22 km/h. In addition, the value of Ds > 0.75 is 0.86, and entered in the level of road service E. This indicates that the state of the coastal road of Mardika has been very saturated so that it is needed Road performance improvements
