Keluarga sebagai Basis Pendidikan Kristen: Fondasi Pembentukan Karakter Anak dan Relevansinya terhadap Kesehatan Mental

Abstract
The family is the first and foremost environment that influences a child's development, including character formation and mental health. The role of parents in providing Christian religious education, affection, proper care, and emotional support is important factor in building a child's personality and psychological resilience. This study aims to analyze the role of the family as the basis of Christian education and the foundation for character building for children and its relevance to mental health. The research method used is a literature review by examining relevant books, articles, and scientific journals. The results of the study show that families who apply Christian educational values have positive synergy between internal communication, emotional support, and spiritual guidance, thus contributing significantly to children's mental health. In addition, it is found that cooperation between families, churches, schools, and communities is necessary to create a holistic educational ecosystem that supports children's psychological development. In conclusion, families play a major role as the foundation for character building and children's mental well-being through the consistent application of Christian values and education.
Abstrak
Keluarga merupakan lingkungan pertama dan utama yang mempengaruhi perkembangan anak, termasuk pembentukan karakter dan kesehatan mentalnya. Peran orang tua dalam memberikan Pendidikan Agama Kristen, kasih sayang, pengasuhan yang tepat, serta dukungan emosional menjadi faktor penting dalam membangun kepribadian dan ketahanan psikologis anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis peran keluarga sebagai basis Pendidikan Kristen dan fondasi pembentukan karakter anak serta relevansinya terhadap kesehatan mental. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah tinjauan literatur dengan mengkaji berbagai buku, artikel, dan jurnal ilmiah yang relevan. Hasil kajian ini menunjukkan bahwa keluarga yang menerapkan nilai-nilai Pendidikan Kristen memiliki sinergi positif antara komunikasi internal, dukungan emosional, dan pembinaan spiritual sehingga berkontribusi signifikan terhadap kesehatan mental anak. Selain itu, hal yang ditemukan yakni kerja sama antara keluarga, gereja, sekolah dan masyarakat yang diperlukan untuk menciptakan ekosistem pendidikan yang holistik dan mendukung perkembangan psikologis anak. Kesimpulannya adalah keluarga berperan sebagai fondasi utama dalam pembentukan karakter dan kesejahteraan mental anak melalui penerapan nilai-nilai iman dan Pendidikan Kristen secara konsisten.
