Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to analyze the role of the distribution of People’s Business Credit and Ultra Micro Financing in enhancing the economic capacity of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Ambon City. The study employs a descriptive qualitative approach using interviews, observation, and documentation techniques involving MSME actors and relevant stakeholders. The results indicate that KUR and UMi contribute positively to increasing business capital, business sustainability, and opportunities for business scale development. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of these financing schemes still faces several constraints, including limited financial literacy, inadequate mentoring, and local market conditions. This study underscores the importance of integrating financing and mentoring within MSME development policies, particularly in archipelagic regions. Keywords: People’s Business Credit (Kredit Usaha Rakyat/KUR), Ultra Micro Financing (Pembiayaan Ultra Mikro/UMi), Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), economic capacity, Ambon City
