Abstract

Abstract; The desires and needs of people who are not limited to be one of the
individual factors of the consumptive lifestyle. Consumptive life patterns that are not
compatible with income can cause long-term financial problems. This condition
requires an effort to improve the welfare of life by emphasizing aspects of financial
behavior. Individual attitudes towards money will influence their behavior when
shopping and saving, which in turn will have an impact on achieving prosperity in life.
Financial management behavior tends to be associated with individual perceptions in
overseeing excessive spending. Responsible financial behavior is very closely related to
self control. Failure of self-control in the use of finance causes psychological
consequences, such as guilt, stress, shame, and regret. Self-control is a response that
has just begun to replace something, for example a response related to diverting
attention from something desired, changing emotions, holding back certain impulses
and improving the conditions that must be achieved. It can be said that most people
want to be able to manage self-control to be implemented in good and planned decision
making in the long term in the future to prosper. By exercising self-control one will be
more careful in determining consumption choices, one must have the principle to
consume the product or service needed (needs), not vice versa to consume the desired
product or service (want). From this description, the author will try to describe more
about self-control in decision making as an effort to achieve prosperity.
