Dampak Konflik Pemilihan Umum Terhadap Perpecahan Jemaat: Studi Kasus Jemaat Gereja Masehi Injili di Halmahera Eben-Haezer Tuguis

Abstract
Conflict in church life is not only caused by doctrinal or structural differences, but can also be triggered by social-political dynamics around the congregation. This article aims to examine the impact of political conflicts on church life, using a case study method in the GMIH Eben-Haezer Tuguis Congregation, North Maluku. The conflict began due to tensions following the legislative elections in 2024. When one congregation member who ran for a seat in the local parliament faced defeat, some of his supporters could not accept the outcome, that then sparked internal division within the Eben-Haezer Tuguis Congregation. This research uses a descriptive qualitative approach and a case study method. The results indicate that the impact of this conflict led to family divisions, fractured fellowship within the congregation, children feeling unworthy to be involved in worship services, and strained peer relationships. Therefore, the church is called to be present actively.
Abstrak
Konflik dalam kehidupan bergereja tidak hanya disebabkan oleh perbedaan doktrinal atau struktural, tetapi juga dapat dipicu oleh dinamika sosial dan politik di sekitar jemaat. Artikel ini hendak mengkaji dampak dari konflik politik terhadap kehidupan bergereja dengan metode studi kasus di Jemaat GMIH Eben-Haezer Tuguis, Maluku Utara. Konflik terjadi akibat ketegangan pascapemilihan legislatif di tahun 2024 lalu. Ketika ada salah satu anggota jemaat yang mencalonkan diri sebagai anggota Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat Daerah, sebagian pendukungnya tidak menerima hasil kekalahan yang kemudian hal tersebut memicu perpecahan internal dalam Jemaat Eben-Haezer Tuguis. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan metode studi kasus. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa dampak dari konflik tersebut membuat keluarga dan persekutuan jemaat terpecah, serta anak merasa dirinya tidak layak untuk terlibat dalam pelayanan ibadah, juga mengalami kerengangan relasi dengan teman sebaya. Oleh sebab itu, gereja dipanggil untuk hadir secara aktif sebagai agen perdamaian melalui pelayanan pastoral yang mencakup pendampingan, pemulihan relasi, dan pendidikan kesadaran politik bagi umat.
