In developing countries, more than 10 million babies die annually, two-thirds of these deaths related to preventable nutritional problems. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between family income level and maternal interest in exclusive breastfeeding for infants aged 0-6 months in the work area of Dekai Regional Hospital, Yahukimo Regency.
This study used a cross-sectional approach, with a sample size of 36 breastfeeding mothers. The sampling technique used was purposive sampling.
The Chi-Square test yielded a value of ?? = 0.014 < ? = 0.05, thus the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, indicating a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and family income. The correlation test with Chi Square obtained a value of ?? = 0.0096 <? = 0.05, so the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted, meaning there is a relationship between exclusive breastfeeding and maternal interest in the work area of Dekai Regional General Hospital, Yahukimo Regency in 2025.
There is a relationship between family income level and maternal interest in providing exclusive breastfeeding to infants aged 0-6 months.
